My mood from yesterday has gotten somewhat better, despite the fact that the jackass in question sent out a company-wide email saying how great it was working the department today (my first day in my new job) as compared to yesterday (my last day in his department). I think I am probably correct to assume that he means "I hate working with Pinky and am so glad she's gone!" Thanks a lot, buster! So I spent some time tonight shopping for sock yarn, to make myself feel better.
I felt even better when I found a ton of new skeins in various etsy shops, and DID NOT buy them. Socktoberfest is in full swing, and in planning for it I realized that I have at least a year's worth of sock yarn to work with. Add to that the three-pairs' worth of yarn that I bought at Crafty Bastards on Sunday (all of which fell into the "MUST BUY NOW, NO SECOND THOUGHTS" catagory).
Socktoberfest was born at a hockey game, so I am waiting for tomorrow night's Hurricanes game to really "get started" on my sock celebration. [Let me remind you that the Carolina Hurricanes just happen to be the reigning Stanley Cup champions. Ahem. Go Canes.] In what little time I have between then and now I will attempt to finish my Scarf Exchange project, which made for delightful knitting while I was in DC. I didn't take any pictures even though I lugged my camera around everywhere. The trip wasn't all I wanted it to be, but I got to see a dear old friend, visit some cool coffeeshops, and learn that Crafty Bastards is a craft fair NOT to be missed. This weekend I hope to take some photos of the scarf, the nascent sockage, and whatever else might be amusing at the moment. This may or may not include the World Beer Festival!
